Ludwig De Winter, Deputy Head of Unit DG Taxation and Customs Union, European Commission

Ludwig De Winter is responsible for the VAT e-Commerce package, derogation requests, optional reverse charge mechanisms and VAT obligations. As deputy HoU he follows all other files within the competence of the unit, including relationswith the customs colleagues. Before joining the Commission he had worked as a tax inspector with the Belgian Ministry of Finance and when he joined the Commission 25 years ago, he was active in the anti-dumping policy (1996-1997).

Roszita Dim, Deputy Director of Customs, Sales and Service Tax Devision, Royal Malaysian Customs Department

Roszita Dim is the Deputy Director of Customs of the International Taxation branch of the Sales and Service Tax Division, Royal Malaysian Customs Department. She joined the Department in 1995 as a Superintendent and had served with the Kuala Lumpur & Melaka branches, the Valuation Management Section, Technical Service Division, and GST Division (LTU & Sector 5) branch, Service tax policy & implementation, prior to her current posting. She had also served as a lecturer, R&D Officer and Finance Officer with the Royal Malaysian Customs Academy in Melaka. Roszita holds a Master’s in Corporate Communications from Universiti Putra Malaysia, an Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from ITM Shah Alam, and Diploma in Accountancy from ITM Dungun Terengganu

Marcos Alvarez Suso, Senior Advisor, Tax Policy and Litigation, Spanish Tax Authority

In 1995 Marcos joined the Spanish Tax Administration. Since then he has been working in different offices of tax administration in Barcelona and Madrid in the following areas: combating tax crimes, Tax auditing, Member of the regional administrative tax court in Madrid, Tax collection.

Since July 2006 he’s been working in the Deputy Direction for Legal Assistance in the Tax Auditing Central Department in Madrid. The main duties of this office are: establishing legal criteria in audits related to taxes (VAT, direct taxation) and procedures to the regional auditing offices, reporting the General Director of the Tax Administration about new laws and regulations before they are approved by the parliament or by the government, appealing decisions against the Tax administration issued by administrative and judicial courts. Currently he is Senior Advisor, Tax Policy and Litigation.

Martin Coquery, Group Indirect Tax Senior Manager, Verisure

Martin is currently group indirect tax senior manager at Verisure. He designs, standardises and coordinates Indirect Tax processes and technology across the group (Europe and LATAM). He manages indirect tax and customs risk, implements automation tools, supports the rollout of Oracle from an indirect tax standpoint and other activities.  He was previously director group indirect tax at Technicolor, CWT and worked in Deloitte extensively.

Liesbeth Geypen, Head of Global Indirect Tax Compliance Services, Deutsche Post DHL

Liesbeth started working for Deutsche Post DHL 37 years ago in an environment without computers. Starting as an Intercompany accounting, she stepped into RtR reporting to become Financial accounting manager for various DHL Entities within Benelux. In 2008 she got the opportunity to step into more TAX & VAT related responsibilities and since 2015 she is working dedicated for VAT Compliance for Europe and beyond within the Group

Andre Rubbert, Head of Digital Tax Transformation, Siemens

Andre is currently Head of Digital Tax Transformation at Siemens, where he has served since 2018. His previous roles at Siemens span 17 years from a variety of functions involving SAP, logistics, consulting and tax/customs. Before this, he worked at PwC.

Darja Meyer, Head of Tax Tech Lab Germany, Siemens

Darja Meyer is the Head of the Tax Tech Lab Germany in the Tax Department of Siemens AG. In this role, she drives innovation by leveraging new technologies, transforms ideas into projects and is part of the digital tax transformation. She has more than 11 years of professional experience, holds an LL.M. in Tax and Digitalization, a master's degree in Sinology and Economics, and has been working with generative AI solutions since early 2022.

Raul Corral, Indirect Tax Leader EMEA, TE Connectivity

Raul is a highly motivated Indirect Tax professional, spending the last 18 years working for large US multinationals (Apple, AMD and TE Connectivity), since 2008 with focus in Indirect Taxes & Compliance, gaining during these years a strong knowledge in the European VAT Law and its application in SAP. He has a proven track record of success in internal and external Audits, as well as counting with an outstanding success in building solid internal and external relationships, working together with and leading multicultural Finance and Tax Teams from US, Asia and Europe.

He has lived and worked in Spain, Germany, Ireland and Switzerland over the last 21 years. Fluent in Spanish (mother tongue), English and German.

Jure Kreca, Senior Manager EMEA VAT, Intel

Jure has 12 years of experience in indirect tax advisory and compliance. He worked at EY Slovenia and from 2015-2017 he was a manager at EY US VAT team in San Francisco, among other advising clients on the EU 2015 reform implementation and related tax technology set ups. From 2018 until 2022 Jure was EMEA VAT Manager at Netflix - he supported in-house billing engineering, product, reporting and revenue teams, as well as content acquisition. Next stop was Fonoa where he mostly worked on building VAT returns products. Currently Jure is EMEA VAT lead at Intel Corporation and is based in Amsterdam.

Christian Van Der Valk, VP, Strategy and Regulatory, Sovos

Christiaan Van Der Valk is VP, Strategy and Regulatory at Sovos. He is an internationally recognised voice on e-business strategy, legal, policy, best practice and commercial issues. Over the past 20 years, Christiaan has presented at and authored several key papers for high-level international meetings at the OECD, European institutions, the Asia Europe Meeting, World Trade Organisation and several other UN agencies. Christiaan is a dual French and Dutch citizen and an amateur oil painter in his scarce free time.

Thenesh Kannaa, Partner/Tax Advisor, TraTax

Thenesh Kannaa is a partner at TraTax Malaysia (legal name: Thenesh, Renga & Associates), a firm of independent tax advisors. He has diverse client portfolio – including manufacturing, professional services, trading, F&B chains, importers and exporters, construction, property development, healthcare, shipping, financial services, telecommunications, societies, government-linked companies and statutory bodies. Thenesh leads the international tax, transfer pricing and indirect tax service lines at TraTax. He is licensed by Ministry of Finance as ta agent and council member of the nation's premier tax body - the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM).
Thenesh is author of several books books and has presented on diverse tax topics in more than 100 conferences and seminars, and often interviewed by mainstream media on contemporaneous tax matters.

Daniel Jakobsen, Head of Group Tax, Falck

Daniel joined Falck in 2021 and is leading the Global Tax department, with the aim of forming a forward-thinking and technology driven tax function. He has over 10 years’ of experience working with indirect taxes. Prior to joining Falck, Daniel worked as an indirect tax advisor and SAP tax architect at Deloitte Sweden. He has also worked as a VAT specialist in Vestas and the Swedish Tax Authorities.

Lorraine O’Flynn, Senior Manager, OUS Indirect Tax Compliance, Stryker

Lorraine is a qualified CPA accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser; she is currently living in Amsterdam & was employed as Associate Manager with Stryker before being promoted to her current position, Senior Manager, OUS Indirect Tax Compliance at Stryker. She qualified as a CPA in 2008 and CTA in 2010. At the time, she worked for Cogent Taxation Group where she trained as a tax consultant & worked for 8 years. 

Ignacio Hinojo Albiñana, Global Customs and VAT Manager, Dufry

Ignacio is global customs and VAT Manager at Dufry. He has extensive international experience in designing Customs and VAT strategies for multinationals. He is esponsible for all VAT, Excise Duties & Customs topics for the Dufry Group. He has worked on process improvement by optimization business guidelines, rules, and processes from an indirect tax point of view (VAT and customs). He has been leading the continuous improvement of the Tax and Customs systems towards automation (experience in Alteryx) and Tax determination (Taxmarc a SAP add-on). And he is customs business process owner (BPO).

Francois Herbecq, Benelux Tax Director, L'Oreal

Francois serves as Tax Director Benelux at L'Oréal. He previously worked at Total Energies and as a tax lawyer at Tetra Law and NautaDutilh.

Oleh Fedusiv, Senior Manager EMEA Tax, Uber

Oleh is a tax professional with 13+ years of experience in consulting and in-house roles. He deals with international tax, transfer pricing and indirect tax matters, as well as tax controversies. Oleh focuses on the taxation of digital platforms. He holds LL.M. in tax law from Lund University

Oleksandr Koriak, EMEA Tax Manager, Uber

Oleksandr is a member of the Tax Business Advisory team at Uber. In his current role as the tax lead for Uber Eats EMEA, he takes charge of delivering comprehensive tax support in the region, including all tax-related aspects. With a versatile background in direct and indirect tax, and experience in both in-house and advisory roles, Oleksandr is a well-rounded tax professional with a keen focus on the gig economy. He holds an LLM in International and European Tax Law, further adding to his expertise in the field.

Rutger is currently working as in-house Global Indirect Tax Manager for Rituals. His previous work was at DocMorris and Deloitte.

Nazar Paradivskyy, VP Regulatory Affairs, Pagero

Nazar Paradivskyy heads up the Regulatory Affairs department. He is also Tax Administrations Lead of OpenPeppol’s CTC project and member of the EESPA Public Policy and Compliance Working Group. Nazar was previously Senior Manager of Merchant Underwriting at Klarna and Analyst of Special Credits Management at SEB. He holds two Master of Laws from Stockholm University and Lviv National University, Ukraine.

Keiko Iwakawa, Indirect Tax Practice Lead, Hitachi Energy

Keiko is a Global Indirect Tax leader at Hitachi energy operating in more than 60 countries globally.  She has previously worked in Big 4 as indirect tax advisor and also in tax engine.  With combined experience, currently she is leading the tax stream for global S4 and tax engine deployment at the organisation.    

Ekaterina Varfolomeeva, Indirect Tax Manager, Binance

Katya is an Indirect Tax Manager with more than ten years of Indirect Tax experience. She is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant (ACA) and holder of Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) from the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) with focus on EU Indirect Tax and Transfer Pricing topics. Prior to her role in Binance, she worked extensively at PwC and KPMG, most recently as a senior manager.

Ingeborg Molenaar, EMEA Indirect Tax Lead, Cargill

Ingeborg is the Indirect Tax lead and Tax Technology Lead for Cargill in EMEA, with a background of 19 years in both Big4 and Industry. In Cargill Ingeborg works on SAP implementations, tax reporting automation, data modelling, tax process design, supply chain tax management, data warehouses, e-invoicing and other tax technology and automation projects.

Erik Bouman, Tax Technology Advisor, IKEA

Erik Bouman serves as a Tax Technology Advisor at IKEA, overseeing tax technology operations for 36 countries. His dedicated team continuously strives to enhance current solutions and develop innovative approaches to address compliance challenges as they arise. Their solutions encompass the entire process, ensuring comprehensive coverage.

Erik boasts extensive experience in implementing tax solutions within SAP, a skillset honed during his tenure as Tax Technology Counsel at LyondellBasell. Furthermore, his background as an SAP FI consultant since 1997 reinforces his proficiency in this domain.

Currently, Erik is spearheading the deployment of SAP Hana across all IKEA countries, using his expertise in orchestrating large-scale technological transitions in the tax domain.
